Fulham Palace TextWorkshop, 4th October 2013

‘The best part of today was learning just how fun and creative museum text can be.’

What a stunning setting for our latest TextWorkshop. Fulham Palace is the former home of the Bishop of London, and we gathered there after a walk in autumn sunshine through Bishop’s Park. Delegates lit up the whole day with great text-writing (about a lion’s skull and lego, among other things) and it was wonderful to feel everyone thinking really creatively about museum panels and labels. Feedback included:

“I learned to think outside the box and not always stick to the same structure and vocabulary.”

“The day exceeded expectations. I will be writing all of my exhibition text with everything discussed today in mind. Really enjoyed it.”

“I loved the friendly nature of the workshop, it was a very relaxed environment good for learning in.”

“After today I’m going to try writing faster – and enjoying it.”

“I thought the day was brilliantly organised… individual concerns were dealt with and everyone was engaged.”

“The instructors were fantastic and enthusiastic.”
