Full house at St Paul’s Cathedral

“A brilliant, invigorating and very practical course”

We had a great day on 13th June at our TextWorkshop at St Paul’s Cathedral, with delegates from all over the country.

A group from the Imperial War Museum joined us, along with delegates from the RHS, London Transport Museum, Tate Modern, and museums in Bradford, Harrogate and East Anglia. As ever we were pleased to welcome freelancers like ourselves at our extra-special rate of £95, and trainees and volunteers who pay only £75.

Lunchtime saw us all lying on the floor in the hallowed Cathedral choir examining the ceiling mosaics, under the guidance of Stephen Spencer of the schools team.

Back in the well-equipped learning centre, we continued testing out top writing tips and techniques to take away and use. Delegates fed back:

“The best part of the day for me was getting such practical advice based on tonnes of real experience – presented so clearly.”

“It’s really useful to have inputs from editor and journalist – it was full of top tips.”

“My main learning outcome is the importance of telling a good story.”

“Excellent practical advice, well-illustrated and delivered with great enthusiasm. Also highly distilled and easy to remember.”

Thanks hugely to Janet Marshall and her team for hosting us and making us all so welcome.
